After celebrating early morning mass for the Missionaries of Charity, Fr. Tom Hagan met us for breakfast and a tour of what remained of his Hands Together headquarters in Delmas, Haiti. Photo was taken at his makeshift office. Note the partially destroyed crucifix, originally belonging to Fr. Hagan's parents.
This blog was created to consolidate the many little tasks that went into providing relief and medical aid to the victims of the earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12, 2010.
Why "St. Joe's Buddies?" To pay homage to St. Joseph, who humbly went about his task of nurturing the child Jesus and protecting his mother, Mary.
Under the inspiration of St. Joseph, our medical and surgical missions to Haiti and other countries are and will be conducted behind the scenes but effectively, in small ways but with a big heart.
If you wish to help, please send your donations to: St. Joe's Buddies, c/o Drs. Ed & Lucie Gamboa, 1745 S. Imperial Avenue, Suite 104, El Centro, California, 92243. Our telephone is: (760) 352-7230, please ask for Gracie.
